If you’re paying attention, or even if you’re not, you might have realized two things are trendy right now: male rompers and turmeric.
Unlike male rompers, 1) there are actually a lot of good reasons turmeric is trendy and 2) I hope turmeric is here to stay. (Yes, I am open to comments on the benefits of male rompers).
So, what is turmeric? Why do I drink it? First, no, it did not turn me into a superhero overnight. But, the benefits are literally too many to count. If you want to read some science about said benefits, this paper goes through a ton. In short, it is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, improves cardiovascular health, an antioxidant, and a million other things. Before the turmeric police come knocking on my door, the active constituent curcumin is technically what leads to these benefits.
You could spend months reading about all the science, and I actually do encourage you to if you need some convincing. But, you can also just trust me and then make some really bomb tea out of it. I came upon this recipe and these products very randomly wandering around health food stores…as I do…but they are really easy to find online. What I like about using these two products is a) it makes it really easy and b) they have other rad stuff in them besides turmeric like ginger, maca, ashwagandha, and black pepper. You can’t taste the black pepper, it is just in there because it helps you absorb all the other stuff. I linked to the chai and the golden milk I use in the recipe below. I hope you love this stuff as much as I do. If nothing else, who doesn’t want to say they start their day by drinking a cup full of gold?!
Below is the recipe and a video of me making myself some tea for your viewing pleasure.
The video of me making myself some tea…
Prep time: ~2 minutes
- Steam the milk if you have a fancy milk steamer (or if your roommate does). Otherwise, heat the milk in a saucepan or microwave if that’s what you’re working with.
- Stir in the golden milk and the chai.
- Crush your day.
~8oz milk (I used almond, but you can use your milk of choice)
Much love, Lisa
